A sudden blast of notes, filling the space; then a cascade, rapid, purposeful, like running up and down stairs - Somebody playing the organ. A pause, and the echoes settle, the church resumes its calm; then it begins again, more quietly this time, like garlands, decoration. Pale air filling with bright patterns. Making it seem more structured somehow. Circles and squares. Geometry of music, geometry of stone. Echoey.

I wonder if the top of the dome lets the air in? It's got a hole in the middle, with a little tower built over the hole. But the sides of the tower are pierced to let the light in, and I wonder if the openings are glazed or -
